Joe D New Berlin , WI March 20, 2019 Appliance: Maytag 30" Modular Gas Downdraft Range JDS9860CDB00 Jenn Air stove JDS9860CDB00 error code 1d11 oven not shutting off. First of all Appliance Parts Pros is the best!! I would not have had the confidence to make this repair myself without their outstanding videos and Q&A sections on their website. And their prices for parts are very competitive. Like many stories on the website, my oven would heat up beyond the temperature set point. When it reached the target temperature, the lower heating element (I think this is the “bake” element) would shutoff, but the top element (“broil” element I believe) would remain on causing the temperature to trip the error message. Common causes were a broken temperature sensor or electronic control board (ECB). The sensor can be tested with an ohm meter, but I chose to purchase both parts as well as a new door gasket before digging into the project. When the parts arrived (which was only 2days), I took out and tested my sensor... it was still at the necessary 1,070 ohm resistance, but I chose to replace it and keep the old one for back up (AAP would have taken the return but I chose to swap out and keep the old one... APP earned that $30 for the videos alone anyway!). Replacement of the ECB was fairly simple (take pics before disconnecting if you’re worried about getting the wires back in the right spot). While doing research I found a few tips to try and prevent the ECB burnout. 1. Minimize heat reaching the ECB (eg don’t broil with door open and make sure your gasket is still making a good seal... hence my reason to replace mine). I also read that using the self cleaning mode for3+ hours could be an issue. I told my wife it’s elbow grease from here on out! 2. Power surges are bad (duh). I tried to find the recommended 2,000 joule (minimum) surge protector for a 240-volt plug, and to this point have not found one. A “whole house” surge protector at your breaker box is an option. 3. Harsh cleaning chemicals making their way to the ECB. I took my time and had the repair done in about 90 minutes (many pics / observations / cleaning / etc), but the job easily could have been done in under an hour. After the repair, I now realize the broil element isn’t even supposed to come on in “normal” bake mode... assume it is used in “rapid pre-heat” mode, so my ECB was definitely toast. Once again, “thank you” to everybody at APP! You guys are the best!! Although I’m hoping to not need replacement parts for any appliances in the future (yeah right wishful thinking), APP now has earned yet another loyal customer. David Z Bloomington , IN June 26, 2014 F1 error code on maytag appliance runaway oven Replaced the sensor in the oven. Very easy on this and other models with this sensor-- just two screws holding it in place and a plug-n-play connector on wires leading from it. No need to call a repair service. Joan G Avon , MA November 07, 2014 Appliance: Model COULDN'T FIND IT Broiler element was sparking and there were flames in the top oven I happened upon the video when researching the problem. The video was perfect. My son watched it and then installed the part. Took about 15 minutes. Loved the trick of putting something on the wires so they didn't slide back into the stove.
