Wing nut for lawn tractors and outdoor power equipment. Secures covers, guards, and components. Replace if stripped, missing, or damaged.
Star knob connects upper and lower handles on lawn mowers and outdoor equipment. Replace if threading is worn, cracked, or knob is missing for secure assembly.
This is a shoulder screw that is used to secure the handles of yard equipment. Typically, this screw is used with a matching wing nut, which is sold separately. Many different varieties of push lawn mowers have handles that fold downward for ease of storage. This is one of the locations on a mower where one will find shoulder bolts and the point at which these bolts are most likely wear out. While they are made of durable machined metal, shoulder bolts receive a great deal of wear, particularly from the handles being raised and lowered each time the mower is used. When pushing down on the mower to clear wet grass clippings or to make sharp turns with the mower, the entire weight of the mower is put on the two shoulder screws where they intersect. Since the metal of the handles can turn at that juncture, extra shearing action is put on the shoulder bolts, which can wear out. It is actually advantageous that the bolts wear out since otherwise, the handles themselves would warp and break apart. These OEM genuine replacement parts fit a number of different lawn and garden machines, including many made by Cub Cadets, Husky, Troy-Bilt, Craftsman, Yard-Man, Bolens, MTD, and Yard-Machines.

This part is a spark plug that is used on a number of lawn and garden power equipment. A spark plug is used as part of an internal combustion engine. The spark plug delivers the electric current from the ignition system to the engine.A new spark plug may be needed after normal wear and tear over a period of time. The operator of the outdoor power equipment may notice that the engine misfires or it is difficult to start. If this is the case, a new spark plug will be needed. Never perform care and maintenance on outdoor power equipment that is powered on. Remember to wear gloves when operating or performing care and maintenance on any outdoor power equipment. This spark plug is a genuine MTD part. It is sold individually. This is a simple extension spring with an outside diameter of 0.38 and a slack length of 2.5. It is primarily used as an extension spring for snowblowers, but may be compatible with other lawn equipment. It’s designed to apply tension as the throttle is applied. The more gas there is, the more resistance will be present. Under most circumstances, replacement is easy. When the spring breaks or gets rusty, look at both points of attachment. Memorize where it’s attached, or take a picture, and remove the old spring using a pair of pliers if necessary. Install the new spring and the tool is ready to use. This is an OEM part sourced directly from MTD, and it is sold individually. It’s black in color and was initially designed for Troy-Bilt lawnmowers. However, because this is a versatile part, it has since been repurposed for a number of MTD and related machines in other brands. These include lawn tractors and snowblowers, as well as lawnmowers, in brands such as Ryobi, Yard Machines, Husky, and Cub Cadet.
This lock washer is used frequently for a number of applications on power yard equipment. The size, 5/16, is the default for many small engine housing and manifold applications. Lock washers are used with machined bolts to fasten engine blocks to the housing of the equipment being used. The compressed washer is able to handle the constant vibration of the small gasoline engine without losing the seal between the screw or bolt and the housing. Typically these lock washers only need to be replaced when they are misplaced during repairs or when the screws that attach them have to be chiseled or cut away, meaning the washers are destroyed as well. These OEM certified replacement washers have been manufactured to the same specifications as the originals they are replacing. In addition to lawn mowers, lock washers of this type and size are frequently used on blowers, lawn tractors, cultivators, snowblowers, and trimmers. Brands compatible with this type of washer are Murray, Husky, Poulan, Bolens, Yard-Man, Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, Yard Machines, MTD, and Ryobi.
