Actually the 2nd time to replace clutch, first one about 8 years ago. Priced clutch at appliance/repair shop near where I live. Price for part around $235.00 at shop, then I looked at Appliance part pros and same OEM part was around $175.00. Use flat scraper to release the two clips holding the top down, then a nut driver, 5/16 I think, to remove two top clips and front of machine lifts off. Because the washer would stop mid cycle and would start again after some period of time, I presumed that there was something amiss in the drive train (i.e. motor, transmission, belt). Took the unit apart and discovered that two of the three brake pads were destroyed. Motor turned easily as did the transmission. Replaced the brake pads and reassembled.
