This is a head assembly for a trimmer. This is not an engine head assembly, however, but the pieces and components necessary to house the cutting line and connect it to the drive shaft. The way a trimmer or weed whacker works is simple. The head assembly spins at a high speed, turning the cutting line that is used to do all of the trimming and maintenance. This entire assembly has to attach to the drive shaft that distributes the power from the motor. This genuine OEM replacement kit contains multiple parts: a head cap, two push nuts, one washer, and the housing head. To make the repair, the original assembly has to be removed using pliers and a flat head screwdriver. It will work with trimmers within the Craftsman and MTD brands, and several others. The largest component, the housing head, is roughly 3" in diameter, and the set uses both metal and plastic parts.
