Noisy bearings Gerald D. • Belle Vernon , PA • October 18, 2014
Repair went fairly smoothly by following the EXCELLENT how-to video provided. I had only a few issues and suggestions. 1. I searched the Appliance Parts Pros "Get Repair Help" tab, typed in the LG washing machine model number (WM3885HCCA), watched videos and searched for the parts shown on the diagrams of my LG washing machine. The Bearing Ball is an OEM part for LG washing machines. This component plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of the washer drum, enabling it to rotate quietly and efficiently during the wash and spin cycles.
Causes of a bad bearing ball can include regular wear and tear, exposure to heavy loads, or insufficient lubrication. Over time, these factors can lead to deterioration and reduced performance of the bearing ball, potentially causing the washer drum to spin improperly or not at all.
Symptoms of a bad bearing ball include:
- Loud rumbling or grinding noises during the wash or spin cycles
- The drum not spinning or spinning unevenly
- Increased vibration or movement of the washer
- Leaks from the drum area due to damaged seals
This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.
