I bought the listed condenser fan motor for my Maytag refrigerator. Access to the condenser fan is by removing sheet metal screws of bottom panel with 1/4 in. nut driver. Condenser fan is on left side of rear access area. Remove electrical connector by pressing-in connector release tab with thumb fingernail and pulling on connector. My KitchenAid refrigerator was not cooling, but the freezer was working perfectly. The help section here listed three parts that could be defective–defrost thermostat, evaporator fan motor and blade, and air diffuser/damper control–so I replaced them all. The videos were EXCELLENT, and despite the difficulty I had squeezing my shoulders into the small freezer compartment, I installed the parts and my refrigerator is cooling perfectly! Kenmore Fan Motor
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 5304436055

The Fan Motor is a genuine OEM part for Frigidaire upright freezers. Installed inside the freezer compartment, it works continuously to distribute cold air uniformly throughout the unit. By circulating chilled air smoothly and efficiently, the fan motor plays an integral part in maintaining steady freezing temperatures. The fan blade doesn’t come with the motor.

Symptoms of a bad fan motor:

  • Insufficient air circulation
  • Motor failing to turn on

Causes of fan motor failure typically stem from age-related wear and tear, buildup of dirt or debris that causes friction and overworking of the component, or damage from moisture exposure leading to potential electrical issues.

This OEM Frigidaire part is compatible with related Electrolux, Gibson, and Kelvinator models as well.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You My Frigidaire frost free commercial freezer was screeching louder than the wheels on my radio flyer red wagon when it was overloaded with 5 cent return for deposit coca cola bottles back in the 1960's   Daniel G. • El Paso , TX • January 24, 2021

In short - I replaced the evaporator fan motor and the evaporator fan blade. The Appliance Parts Pros website was extremely helpful to me. Here's how. 1. The site helped me identify that even though my Freezer says it's a Frigidaire, it's actually an Electrolux. 2. The site identified the potential screech causing parts. (I didn't take a chance, I bought all three) It was a worthwhile investment. My freezer is 20 years old so it deserved some help. 3. The site provided guidance videos (not... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Bottom freezer froze up evap not working   Richard H. • Owasso , OK • October 14, 2019

The repair went well. Never made this type of repair before. Took me around 90 minutes to complete. The worst part was winging it on how to disassemble the bottom drawers. On my Kenmore Elite, it has three freezer compartment sliding trays. The other difficult part for me was removing the clipped in part on the back of the freezer panel. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Maytag refrigerator cold freezer and warm fridge   Oscar R. • Washington , DC • July 14, 2014

First, I did online research to find out what could be the problem with these symptoms of cold freezer and warm fridge. I found multiple posts with people going back and forth as far as what to do to fix it. One tread even provided the link to your store with the part number for the evaporator fan motor. So I did the inspection of the motor as suggested by the expert and sure enough it was the evaporator's motor fan that was not working as it should. That is when I immediately follow the link... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice dispenser motor bad   Scott P. • Dacula , GA • March 27, 2021

I received my new part in about 3-4 days. Part was exact match for my existing motor. After watching the installation video on this website I was able to garner the rudimentary directions to replace the motor. The video did not match the exact fridge I had. My fridge did not have the access panel on the interior of the freezer. I had to remove the two screws at the water ice dispenser tray on the outside and slide that unit off the front. My problem started with a rusting condition in the ice bin that spiraled out of hand. I took apart the ice bin and all the hardware thinking I could clean it with the suggested baking powder. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Clicking or tat tat tat noise with no agitation or spin   Gerald T. • Aberdeen , NC • March 19, 2018

Unplugged power cord, shut off hot and cold water valves, and disconnected hot and cold water lines. I taped the lid closed and laid washer down on its front panel to access motor parts underneath. Removed center screw (allen wrench) and then removed large, round, plastic rotor (had to use some force with fingers behind it to get it off).
