Replace a worn rear self-leveling leg to restore a stable, level appliance. This foot supports the back of the cabinet and automatically compensates for floor unevenness to help reduce vibration, rocking, and noise during operation.
I followed the Appliance Parts Pro's advice videos for the Maytag MAV6451AWW Atlantis washer on replacing the snubber ring and the suspension springs. Fix washer overflowing or not stopping fill cycle. This water level pressure switch senses tub water and signals control to stop filling. DIY repair.
Filled tub to about 6 inches and inspected washer. Noticed that the tube leading from the air entrapment bubble on the exterior side of the drum had a small leak in it. Clipped off the part of the tube that had the hole in it(it was very close to the connector nipple) reconnected and problem was solved. Read more
Silicone lubricant conditions rubber seals and O-rings in appliances. Apply during service to ease installation and prevent leaks. Confirm fit by model.
It was a relatively easy fix and the video instructions on this site provided were helpful. The one piece that wasn't clear is the alumilastic was already on the replacement part so a separate tube is not required. That wasn't clear on the video and was an unneeded expense. Read more

I replaced the controller. I had a heck of a time figuring out how to get to it. The video on the website showed access to the control via the rear panel. On the Kitchen Aid we have, the back panel is part of the range's main frame and does not come off. Turns out, 2 screws behind the fluorescent lamp had to be removed and the entire control panel housing lifts up and can be tilted forward. 43-inch drive belt transfers motor power to the drum. Replace if washer won't spin, makes squealing noises, or drum turns freely by hand. Verify fit.
