Toughest part of this repair is figuring out how to get things apart. Amana doesn't provide you a repair manual showing how to disengage the various plastic covers. Initially disassembled the bottom freezer compartment so I could get to the evaporator coils; they were completely frozen in block of ice, restricting air flow to the fridge above. Looked up parts based on fridge model number, watched videos, and replaced parts using just a few tools... easy. Parts came quick, well packaged. After 16 years, plastic parts deteriorate and break. I bought the listed condenser fan motor for my Maytag refrigerator. Access to the condenser fan is by removing sheet metal screws of bottom panel with 1/4 in. nut driver. Condenser fan is on left side of rear access area. Remove electrical connector by pressing-in connector release tab with thumb fingernail and pulling on connector. Took off the freezer door, took off the top hinge on the refrigerator door, replaced the handle, re-installed the top hinge and the freezer door. This is a two person job - one to remove the top hinge and replace the handle, while a second person holds the refrigerator door in place. Replacing the handle was easy. First, I did online research to find out what could be the problem with these symptoms of cold freezer and warm fridge. I found multiple posts with people going back and forth as far as what to do to fix it. One tread even provided the link to your store with the part number for the evaporator fan motor. Had to take the back cover off. It was very tight to remove the fan that sat in the drip pan but did get it off, was able to apply the same level of cursing and got the new pan installed, installing the drain tube was a breeze. Found the parts price very reasonable. Hoping the Whirlpool redesigned the pan so I won't have to do it ever again. I was surprised at how bad the quality of their original part was. Water dispenser came down to a trickle and made a lot of noise, I changed the filter but it didnt help and thus the water tank/head assembly needed to be replaced. Replacing the water Tank/head assembly was an easy task, the hardest part is removing the covers and taking care of not breaking the insulation of the water inlet hose.
