Hello Jerry. You will need to locate the source of the ice. Look for leaks and check door seals. Also, make sure you do not have a defrost issue.

Malhovak, For this issue, the icemaker arm is not shutting the icemaker off when it is full so it causes the ice to fall out of the back. You will want to install the icemaker extension 218513800 for this issue.

My ice maker won't dump ice into the bucket. It fills and freezes the cube tray fine, but won't dump into hopper. I turn the ice maker on and off, and immediately the ejector starts turning and it jets one row of ice. A couple of hours pass, and again, ice is ready, but won't dump on its own. Another power cycle causes another dumping. There are no obstructions as far as I can see. The hopper full sensor bar/arm seems to be in its normal position and moves freely when moved by hand, no odd noises from the gears, or fill valves, can't figure it out.

Hello Andrew, This sounds like the cycling thermostat is not doing its' job. Parts of this icemaker are not available individually so you would need to replace the icemaker assembly AEQ36756901.

Hello, My LG ice maker works fine but water seems to be leaking somewhere on the left side of the tray because it ices up on the left freezer wall and inside of the ice bin. Every few weeks apparently water trickles into the fan motor and it starts to freeze up and makes a loud clacking noise. If we leave the freezer open for about a half an hour it thaws, and is good to go again. A while back there was a thin plastic piece that attached to the 2 bottom holes in the ice tray but it broke and I could not re-attach it. The icemaker seemed to work fine, but then this problem started. Im not sure whether that helped level the tray but can't seem to figure out what that part was. Please tell me what that part was if thats what is needed or if it's something more that is wrong. Thank you, Janie

Janie, It sounds like the piece that fell off was a thermistor holder. There is a thermistor that is on the bottom of the icemaker that allows it to cycle. If the icemaker is tilting then it is warped and would need to have the icemaker replaced. The part number for the icemaker is 5989JA1005D.

Mark, This issue would most likely be caused by a drain in the freezer that is clogged. You will want to remove the rear panel and clean out any ice in the drain trough. Once that is cleaned out you will want to flush the drain with hot water to get it flowing again.

Hello John. If the icemaker is new and is level, you will need to order and replace the water valve on the unit.
