Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Board, Control (Part Number: OEM18019008)

Dee M for Model Number MAH4000AWW

Hi, about a year ago, my washer would complete the cycle and sound like it was working but open the door and the clothes were still dripping they were so wet. the water was drained but appeared it didnt spin them to get excess water out. I had a repair man come out, her charged me $500 and replaced the mother board. It is now doing the same thing. I have tried to reset to spin cycle and it sounds like it is working but isn't. If its another 500$ fix, i just should get a new washer. Thoughts?

Dee, It could be as simple and monor as a faulty spin enable switch WP22002162 on the door latch assembly, or off balanced load switch WP22002044 causing the tub not to spin. We would not expect a Machine Control board to fail in such a short time span, without an "outside" cause. It may be worth having a servicer check the washer out one more time. Thanks

Hello Luc. If the trace is burnt, needs to be replaced not repaired on the board. As for the valve. The water needs to be turned on, or it can damage the valve on the unit. You need to replace the valve and the board.

Hello Luc. The P7 #0 is not there. There is 1-8. 1 is the hot water valve and 8 is the timer.

Hello Luc. Yes, based on the information you provided, if the board is burnt, you will need to order and replace the control board 22002988 on the unit.

Hello Luc, Unplug the machine and remove the back off of the control panel. Remove the hose off of the pressure switch and blow in it with the door open. If you hear the air in the tub when you blow, I would change the water inlet valve. The part number will be dependent on the first two digits of the serial number. If it starts with 25 or below, you will need to order part number 22002294. If it starts with 26 or higher you will need to order part number 22002558. The only other possibility would be the pressure switch WP22002921 could have bad contacts.

JC, At this point, you don't need either. First a couple of easy checks and repairs. The most common faults for your complaint is, the washer is not filling to the proper water level in the specified amount of time. Check the water fill hose screened washer and the inlet valve debris screens for clogs and sediment. Disconnect the 1/4 in. hose from the water level switch and blow in the hose, make sure theres no debris or build up in it. Make sure the motor runs. Make sure the washer has advanced to the off position, open then close the door, select the spin cycle on the control panel and then press the start button. Allow the washer to start and reach the high spin speed(at least run the spin cycle for 5 minutes). You also need to remember, the door "must" be opened between cycles, in order for the main board relay to open and reset. Thanks and Good Luck

Hi Ramiro. Remove power. Remove the control panel back. Remove the 2- lt. and rt. hold down screws on the inside of the control console assy. Roll the console fwd. and lay a towel down to place the front of the panel onto. Inspect the machine control board front and back to see if anything is burnt. This part # is 22002988. Remove the dispenser frame screws. Remove the front door and carefully lay the hinge screws aside for reconnection. Remove opposite hinge front inner panel screws. Place your hands on the top inner/outer panel areas and twist the panel as you pull out towards you. Then lift the front panel off the lower frame clips, set aside. Then remove the lower rt. motor control board cover screw(5/16"). Inspect the motor control board to see if there are any blown resisters or chips off the board. This part # is 12002039. These are usually the 2 - main issues stopping machine operation. Is the door lock light coming on? Let us know so we can assist you further if needed. Thank You.

Hello James. Check and see if the R-11 resistor is burnt on the control board. If so, you will need to replace the control board 12001725 and the wax motor WP22002119. Hope this helps.
