Ken, With everything checking ok, the most likely cause for the unit not working would be the console. It sounds like the keypad on the console has a failed start/stop key.

James for Model Number Maytag Neptune Gas Dryer MDG5500AWW

My dryer quit heating. Opened it up and ran it and igniter glows for 30 to 60 seconds and then goes off. Is the gas solenoids bad or something else? I also have been having stuck key problems with this unit as well. I read some where to put a heating pad on it for 15 minutes. I tried a hair dyer and it seemed to work. Is there any other way to fix this besides ordering another panel for $150 to $200? I had this same problem on my Kenmore dishwaasher as well.

James, When checking the resistance of the gas coils, you should have a resistance value. The resistance value for the coils are on the 3 terminal from 1 to 3 should be 1300 ohms, from 1 to 2 should be 500 ohms and on the 2 terminal coil should be 1300 ohms. If not within this range then the coils are bad. You also want to check the radiant sensor which should be closed at start and opens once it reaches approximately 2200 degrees.

Hello James, This sounds like either the coils 279834 on the gas valve have failed or the gas valve WP306176 itself has failed. The stuck keys are, of course, a separate issue with the control panel. The control panel is specific to the series number. The series number is actually the first two numbers of the serial number. The unit will use 33002536 if the serial number begins with 68 or lower. If the serial number begins with 69 or higher, it will take 22004444.

UU, The thermistor resistance is in Range (10,000 ohms at room temp/78 dgrs.F.) You should check the resistance at the J4 connector pin 1 and 2 of the harness for the same). Th4 issue is most likely due to a weak thermostat WP694674, WP303395 and or a clogged or long exhaust vent or hood.

Hi Bob. For a thermistor part # 307208, you will look for resistance. It should read around 10,000 ohms at room temperature. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. There is a flame sensor part # WP338906 that normally is closed, it may be opening prematurely and making the flame go out. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Also make sure that there are absolutely no vent kinks or the vent hood/cap outside is not shut or not opening and closing correctly. Thank You. ://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html.

Jayson for Model Number whirlpool AWG349/3 washer dryer

dryer not heating. checked both stats have continuity. and element too. thermistor doesnt have continuity nor any resistance. ive tried bridging both the wires which plug into the thermistor (basically bypassing it by directly connecting the two wire together) just to test if i can get the element to turn on. But bypassing it doesnt make the element turn on. i do have live feed on both wires to the thermistor coz i checked with neon driver before connecting them. or would the thermistor work in a different way? i though closing that circuit would send the message to start the hearer element up. there is no live going to the element not the stat next to the element. im not sure if there should be live going to them always or just when something is activated.

Hello Jayson. It sounds like the thermistor 307208 is bad and will need to be replaced. You can not bypass the thermistor and it should read resistance. Hope this helps.

Hello Mark. Thermistors do not have continuity, they show resistance. You should read around 10k Ohms at room temperature. If the igniter is getting 120 volts, but not glowing, then you have a bad igniter WP33002789. Hope this helps.
