Ordered the part and installed myself. Received payout from home warranty of $750 since they could not source the part quickly. I decided to order the part online through appliancepartspro since they were the best price. Repair was very straightforward and easy. 10 screws around the cooktop for easy removal, longest part was vacuuming out the old glass. The cooktop set into place and really did not need any sealer since it was heavy enough to sit back in place without moving.

It was easy to remove the old top and replace it with the new.
the only thing we couldn't find the heat resistant silicone strip that goes between the counter top and the glass cook top.
we ended up reusing the old one.
maybe it should come with the replacement top?
