I removed the door, mostly so we could really clean the all the nooks and cranny's of the stove, and make the handle and gasket replacement easier. Attaching the new handle was not difficult, but did require some minor door dis-assembly. Removing the old gasket and putting on the new gasket was a breeze. Ordered the parts from Appliancepartspros.com and watched their helpful video on how to do it. When the parts came, which was very quickly, I removed the stove, took it apart, replaced the element and put it back in place in less than an hour. Read more

This job was fast. About 2 minutes. Just need to pull the old gasket out. Generally can be done with your hands but may need pliers if any of the metal wires get caught. Read more

The previous tenant in my daughter's new apartment apparently had a grease fire of sorts in the GE XL44 gas oven. This left the insulating double glass panes so fouled up that one could not see into the oven. I removed the oven door (just lifts off the hinges) and proceeded to disassemble the door so as to get to the glass panes. The video shown was completely incorrect for the gasket needed on my range. I had to remove the door, disassemble the inside panel, and remove the old gasket. I suggest you have assistance when doing this. Putting on the new gasket was challenging but not impossible for a do it your selfer. You should make a video for this gasket so people don't think it is as easy as pulling a few pins around the window!! Read more

Remove the 2 screws that connects oven incert to frame. Slide incert outf .5 inch. Removed old seal and replaced it with new seal. Pushed incert back into frame. Screwed the 2 screws back into place. Read more
