Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB26X10264

The Fan Kit is an OEM part for GE ovens and ranges. This part regulates the internal temperatures and preventing overheating.

Causes of a bad Fan Kit can stem from motor failure due to wear and tear, obstructions or debris blocking proper airflow, or damage to the fan blades or housing.

Symptoms of a bad Fan Kit include:

  • Strange noises or lack of airflow from the fan

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Oven was shutting off when it reached temps over 400 control panel was frozen and very hot the only way to reset was to flip the breaker off and on   Joan L. • Waxhaw , NC • June 02, 2019

We initially called a repair company who immediately diagnosed the fan, without opening up anything. They quoted $550 to repair. $159 of that was the fan part. Plus they told me the parts come from overseas and will take 2 week to arrive. I researched the model number and can part and found exactly what I was looking for on your site. Plus there were diagrams and forum discussions that boosted my confidence on repairing ourself. Using your parts diagrams and our manual information, we pulled... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Built in oven had obvious bearing problems in the fan as it was very noisy at times replaced the fan when the oven shut itself off i assumed that the fan had failed and hi temp caused the shut off   Gary S. • Quincy , WA • May 28, 2016

Very easy fix. Turned of power at breaker. Removed oven door by lowering two "keepers" on the hinges for the oven door and sliding the door out of the oven. Removed the trim plate at bottom of oven by pushing it up.. Removed 2 screws that mount to the frame of the cabinet at the bottom that the trim plate hangs from. Then removed 4 screws that hold the oven into the cabinet at either side of the oven. Put two 5 gallon buckets in front of the oven and slid the oven out onto the side-by-side... Read more

Genuine Ge part
By: Ge

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You GE profile in wall oven gave F 9 code and would shut off after 30 minutes   Matthew M. • Fairfield , CA • July 23, 2018

The F9 error code is supposed to indicate that the door lock mechanism has failed. My oven would give the F9 code and turn off during normal baking at 400 F after about 30-40 minutes. It turns out that GE must have programmed the error codes incorrectly in my model, because the real problem was that my control board cooling fan was no longer functional, and one of the two thermal switches was shutting off the unit when the control board area got too hot. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The convection fan on my ge profile convection wall oven burned out   Doug C. • Staunton , VA • February 18, 2015

The motor hummed but the fan didn't turn. Clearly the brushes were burned out. I ordered a new fan, although I had to talk to a human at ApplianceParts because my model was not listed. The part was a perfect fit. The only problem is determining how to remove the over to reach the back, no instructions anywhere online. But trial and error eventually worked. You absolutely need a nut-driver that fits the hex head screws on the oven to remove panels covering the motor, but a cheap... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The control console cooling fan was very noisy when the oven was on   Keith K. • Plainville , MA • July 27, 2014

I ordered a replacement fan and removed the old one and installed the new one. The job took only an hour because I had replaced the cook top a few months ago and know how to remove most of the parts to get to the fan. The biggest tip I can give is not to force anything.
