Kenny for Model Number switch membrane W10207928

Hey Experts! I received my part W10207928 the switch membrane and followed the instructions i found on your site which were super helpful. the "connector" you refer to in your response to another customer, john is loose on the board for one of my connectors for the ribbon. the ribbon is clicked into place in the connector side but there is alot of play on the connector. The board does not work or is not responding...thoughts? thanks Kenny could you email me?

Kenny, Once you push the ribbon harness into place then you will push the connector part down and lock it in. Once this is done then power the unit on. If you do not push the connection down then it will not make the contacts on the control.

Hello Mark. To replace the part, you need to remove the control board from the unit. Then remove the ribbon cable from the control board. Next, the old membrane unpeels off of the control board and the new one sticks onto the new control board.

Hello Olivia. Try reseating the ribbon cable and cleaning it with an eraser and rubbing alcohol. If it still is not working properly, replace the membrane on the unit.

Vio, Unfortunately, you didn't attach the model number of your range, and this manufacturer usually doesn't have a key pad matrix, needed to test the membrane. Based on your post description, your key pad/membrane switch is the most likely issue, and the place to start. It is subjected to heat from the oven and the cooktop, as well as the basic household cleaning compounds which does affect the key pad circuits.

Hello Arthur! Yes, the membrane switches are the same. The only difference between the two is the color. Thanks!

Judy, You will want to check the wiring of the unit. You will want to refer to the wiring diagram to ensure that the there is not a programming mode that you have to do and make sure that the unit is wired per the wiring diagram. If this checks ok then it sounds like a bad control board.
