The steering assembly service kit plays a part in the lawnmower's steering mechanism. The steering shaft gear is the part that moves the steering sector gear so the lawnmower wheels can be turned to the left or the right. If the steering assembly service kit is having problems, the lawnmower often becomes hard to steer. When this happens, the assembly service will need to be replaced.Replacing the steering assembly service kit on a lawnmower requires the use of several tools. Users will need a 1/2 inch wrench, an adjustable wrench, a 15/16 inch socket, a 1/2 inch socket, a 9/16 inch socket, and a 3/8 inch socket. The mower deck, battery, and battery box will need to be removed. Next, remove the steering wheel and the steering extension before taking out the linkages. The old steering assembly can be removed before replacing it with the new component.This steering assembly service kit is sold as an individual component.
